Here’s one more reason to dig into some Ben & Jerry’s Cherry Garcia: they provided critical funding for a greenhouse gas emissions reduction project on a picturesque Vermont dairy farm. With separation equipment, waste is processed into sanitary bedding for cows—reducing the production of methane, a greenhouse gas more than 20 times more potent than carbon dioxide.
Besides significant reductions in methane, the project increases the financial strength of the farm and has the potential to create even higher quality milk than we already enjoy with every bite of Chunky Monkey.
