On February 3rd, we participated in the US Trail Running Conference’s Webinar on “How to Analyze and Produce Carbon Neutral Races.” The Council for Responsible Sport Identified that 98.5% of emissions from race events derive from participant travel. That means that for race directors that aren’t ready to take their races virtual, there is a big opportunity for offsetting, alongside other measures like encouraging carpooling. In this webinar, you’ll hear from Shelley of the Council for Responsible Sport about their emissions research, Ben and Porter from Orca Running on how they’re taking all of their 2022 races carbon neutral, Terry Chiplin – Director of the US Trail Running Conference – on how he worked with Native to measure and offset the conference’s footprint, and our own Claire Lafave on opportunities and tools for race directors seeking to offset their races.
