Event Description:

As part of Climate Week NYC, we attended the session “Net Zero Value Chains: from commitment to credible reporting“, hosted by the Value Change Initiative.

The event included panel discussions on the following topics:

-Towards COP 27: The role of regulators, investors and standards in driving reliable and transparent value chain data towards achieving Net Zero ambitions

-Achieving faster actions and driving investments through market-based mechanisms and collective action

A highlight was hearing from Luiz Amaral, CEO of the Science Based Targets Initiative, who underlined that the SBTi’s imperative is to set ambition aligned with science, whether those are convenient for companies or not.

He challenged companies to see corporate climate action as a huge innovation opportunity.
